Join us for an exciting walking weekend in the Lake District and stay in the beautiful market town of Keswick, in the Northern Lake. Situated next to Derwent Water and surrounded by mountains and hills, Keswick is the ideal base for a weekend walking break.

Join us on Friday afternoon if you can for a short walk before an evening meal and perhaps a stroll around Keswick town. After breakfast on Saturday morning we’ll head off for the hills and walk up Skiddaw, England’s fourth highest mountain, and at 931m high there are fantastic views from the top, looking back down towards Keswick in the distance and all across the Lake District National Park. Staying in the the Keswick Country House Hotel, which is only two minutes walk from the bustling market town of Keswick, with its eclectic mix of shops, pubs and restaurants, following an evening meal with the group you’ll be able to enjoy a drink or two in one of the many pubs or simply relax using the hotel facilities.

After breakfast on Sunday morning there is the option of joining us for a walk up to Catbells, above Lake Derwent which offers magnificent views from the top, or take a walk around Keswick town, down to Derwent water, or simply relax.

Depart approximately 2pm.

This walk is graded INTERMEDIATE

All our walks are Graded so it makes it easier for you to understand the intensity and level of walking we’ll be doing. Below is a description of each:

Gentle: for beginners or those that enjoy lower level and shorter walks, an average of 3-4 hours walking per day with plenty of breaks.

Intermediate: these walks are suitable for anyone who has done some walking in the past, or does some form of weekly exercise. Some steeper gradients may be involved but there will be plenty of opportunities to stop for a break. Average of 4 – 6 hours walking per day.

High Intermediate: Longer walks/treks with some steep gradients and possibly some scrambling, sometimes at higher altitudes (trekking in Europe or Africa). An average of 6 – 8 hour walking, no technical skill required but a good level of fitness is required.

This is a guideline only, if you are unsure whether you could complete a walk with us or would just like to clarify some information, please feel free to contact us by telephone or email.
