Join us on this classic Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge, 25 miles taking in the 3 highest Peaks in Yorkshire – Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent in under 12 hours.
Ladies only, challenge yourself in 2016, have some great fun along the way and feel the achievement of completing the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge. With 2 fully qualified guides Hayley and Helen (who also run Cafe Altitude in Ambleside in the Lake District so will be bringing some lovely home-made snacks!) you’ll be fully supported not only by us but by the rest of the team. Take in the magnificent scenery, make new friends and generally have fun walking the 3 peaks.
Arrival time to Horton in Ribblesdale 7am
· Parking in the public car park by the toilets, or the farmers field before the bridge. Both are pay and display.
· Once parked up please meet us at the Pen-Y-Ghent cafe
· Our aim is to complete the full round of the Y3P, which takes in Pen Y Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. The challenge is to complete the circuit in under 12 hours, which is very achievable with a little bit of preparation (we can provide you with a training guide if required)
· We will travel across from the lake district on the morning of the event, and back in the evening. Therefore we can accommodate pick ups from Windermere or Oxenholme train stations, but will endeavour to help out with any transport issues that you may require (please let us know).
· There is also a train station at Horton in Ribblesdale near the start point.
This walk is graded HIGH INTERMEDIATE
All our walks are Graded so it makes it easier for you to understand the intensity and level of walking we’ll be doing. Below is a description of each:
For beginners or those that enjoy lower level and shorter walks, an average of 3-4 hours walking per day with plenty of breaks.
These walks are suitable for anyone who has done some walking in the past, or does some form of weekly exercise. Some steeper gradients may be involved but there will be plenty of opportunities to stop for a break. Average of 4 – 6 hours walking per day.
Longer walks/treks with some steep gradients and possibly some scrambling, sometimes at higher altitudes (trekking in Europe or Africa). An average of 6 – 8 hour walking, more if completing a challenge, no technical skill required but a good level of fitness is required.

Suitable hill clothing, quick drying, ie, a base layer t-shirt or long sleeved top, thin fleece,….no jeans! Please ask us for advice if unsure.
A complete set of clean clothes to change into afterwards, this route is a bit boggy!
Rucksack – 25-35ltr
At least 2 litres of fluids, water or squash. We can fill up if required partway round.
A packed lunch
A bit of change for the farm cafe part way round if you require a hot drink etc.
A sense of humour!!! Essential. 🙂
